Old things will not work in your new

After many vehicles, mostly old and almost broke down, God gave me access to a brand new car. I went from riding public transportation and Uber to a brand new car. Never been driven by anyone else, I was the first user. I had elevated. But I was still using cheap gas, I frequented FreeState and Sunoco gas stations often. I even got an app, GetUpside, for cash back on gas, I thought I was winning.

One hottest day of the summer, my new car began to chug along. I had 100 miles left till an empty tank and I couldn't understand why my car was struggling to make it up hills. It was dragging. I was nervous. I called my husband as the engine light turned on. I was officially in panic mode.

We quickly called the mechanic and set an appointment but before we got off the phone we were told to not worry, its probably a sensor or watered down gas. After the phone call, my husband grilled me about the gas I was putting in my car. "Sunoco gas is watered down, go to Shell or Exxon from now on. He said that the engine light will probably go off before the appointment."

I listened to my husband than began to pray. Lord, please don't let nothing be seriously wrong with my car. He answered quickly.

Nothing is wrong. You can not go back when I elevated you. Old things will not work in your new. Forget the former things, I am doing a new thing in you. (Isaiah 43:18-19)

I could not be in a brand new car putting the same old gas in my car. It damaged the inside and my check engine light turned on. It took a couple of days before the check engine light went off and I filled my tank with Shell gas and it drove brand new again.

This experience boldly spoke to me. I could not embrace the new and still dabble in the old. I can't ride in a brand new vehicle putting the old gas in and think that it would function the same way. You can't update your logo and not update your letterhead. When God gives you something, when he elevates you, embrace it ALL and don't go back to what broke you. Don't go back to old ways in your new thing, it won't work.

The only reason why you should look back is to see how far you've come. God elevated you for a reason. I have a new car because I earned it and God gave me a husband that understood I needed a new thing. When I continued to put cheap gas in my vehicle it would not accept it.

Don't give your new blessing the same old praise. Elevate your mindset, you earned it. Keep that elevated mindset for the next new thing... I am aiming for an Audi next.

Lord, help me to embrace this change. Help me to accept this uncomfortable feeling as a sign that greater is coming. Lord I am open to the new things you have in store for me. Give me direction to assist with a smooth transition from great to greater, from defeat to triumph, from frustrated to accomplished, from panicked to ease, from less to more, from low to high, from broke to paid, from decrease to increase, from lack to abundance, from denied to approved, from job to career, from thousands to millions, from hurt to joy. I praise and thank you in advance, Amen.

When we move forward... when we are not pleased in backwards motion... when we elevate so that others can rise, God will always make sure we shine. We were Created For So Much More. We must continue to press and praise forward. Everyone will not praise or worship the same, so we have to stop expecting US from others. Just be you and God will continue to move you from the back of the bus to the driver's seat in your Audi. Draw a Circle around it and Claim it. #WeArePositivePushers
