We have spent years securing the bag, watching the bag, filling the bag, and even stealing the bag. But what does all this mean? What is this bag and why has been trending for over 365 days?

According to the Urban Dictionary, securing the bag is an expression used to describe the act of taking/obtaining advantage of the situation and keep something of value, or in most terms, financial value. Over the years we have seen this slogan overtake the media, even possessing a democratic presidential candidate slogan in retrospect.
I took a deeper look into the word "secure" to further understand how this concept has swept the country. According to Google, secure means to be fixed or fastened so as not to give way, become loose, or be lost. According to Merriam-Websters Dictionary, secure means to be free from danger; to make fast. My interpretation of the definitions does not make me want to secure the bag; I want to do the opposite.
I don't want to secure the bag, I want to be the bank.
I do not want one moment of advantage, I want a lifetime of valuable situations that I can obtain and create for others. This "secure the bag" slogan and hashtag is just another cliche. Something for us to say as if we were really making moves, but really we are just making moments for likes, shares, and reposts.

We have so much to say but are we putting actions to our words. We can scroll through our social media timelines for cute and productive quotes that seem to temporarily activate a productive thought or impulsive declaration but when does it turn into action. We jump on board to lead but turn into followers without a purpose, just a bag.
When the contents of the bag are empty, what do you do next? You spent time securing something that was only for a moment instead of walking in your purpose for a lifetime. Don't secure the bag, walk in your billionaire status. Make your strides towards long money... money that can not fit into bags.
God doesn't supply the bag, he supplies the fortune. Can you imagine if we walked with God in our hearts like we do our phones in our hands what that would do for our daily lives? Can you imagine securing God's purpose in your life over your own?
Don't get me wrong, I have said the slogan a time or two and realized it did nothing for the implementation of elevation. Are you tired of going around in circles following the slogan that seems cute and catchy? I decided to walk in God's purpose for my life and doors began to open. It took one declaration, "God, lead me in your purpose. Show me how to walk for YOU. Grant me access to opportunities that magnify your glory. Let your light shine through my actions." He hasn't failed me yet.
