It was the beginning of the spring when our Facebook Live videos of The Sullivan's going to church were starting to gain the attraction of our kids' close friends' parents. They loved our conversations, our interactions with our kids and most of all, they adored our commentary on the worship service.
It came to no surprise that kids wanted to be on our Facebook Live posts, but they had to come to church with us for the feature. The problem wasn't that the kids didn't want to go to church or that church was too early in the morning, it was a simple as "she doesn't have anything to wear."
Should this be a reason to not attend church? Should this hinder one from getting a blessing from God? It should not but indeed it does. As a family, we have decided to dedicate 5th Sundays to a challenge. A challenge to invite our friends, family, co-workers and classmates to our church dressed in whatever they had in their closest ... to truly come to church as they are. God doesn't want something from us, he simply wants us.
This is not a dress - down Sunday, but merely a call to those who want to reach non-churched, the hurt, the forgotten, the shaded, the complicated persons to church to experience a visit from God that will change their lives.
We challenge you to invite at least 5 people to your church and tell them that they can come as they are. On Sunday, June 30, the theme "Preppy Praise" will be the focus to launch this initiative. Will you accept the challenge?

“Everyone whom the Father gives me will come to me, and the one who comes to me I will never send away.” John 6:37
“The Spirit and the bride say, “Come.” Let anyone who hears this say, “Come.” Let anyone who is thirsty come. Let anyone who desires drink freely from the water of life.” Revelation 22:17
“Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.” Matthew 11:28
Hey! Miss you at church.
