As the beat drops you might be unsure if the nodding of your head is aligned with your salvation. Some of us may not understand the words being said or it may feel too familiar to a secular tune. Well, you are all right. You have your opinions as to what may be right or wrong, but let me take a moment to enlighten you.
If we don't step out of our comfort zone to evangelize, who will? I posted something similar on my social media platforms before my husband and I decided on the concept of a couple of music videos we were working on. My husband dropped "Money Pile Up" in April introducing The Sullivan's as a family unit with many talents. As he described in his interview on
AwesomeGodRadio's Rashad Mills Show, "why not end the prayer with let this money pile up?"
If you listen closely to the lyrics in the beginning of the video, the entire song is actually a prayer. A prayer to bless his family, his children, the world and finally after given everyone their spot in the prayer, a final request to let all the blessings, all the money, let it pile up.
At first, I will be honest, I wasn't feeling the Holy HipHop industry. I felt that they were taking the easy way out. I compared Christian rappers to secular rappers and I wanted more. "Just because you are rapping about Jesus doesn't mean you are a good rapper," I have stated in several ranting Facebook Live posts and on radio interviews. It seemed as if every Christian rapper got a pass because of his content not the quality or "dopeness" of his lyrics or music.

I held the Christian Rapper higher than any secular artist because of their content. I would be annoyed with artist that would develop mediocre music videos compared to those of the secular industry. I would exclaim to my husband, if you gonna do it.. do it right. We have gospel music for a reason. If you want to meet that audience that likes Christian HipHop, be as if not more effective than secular rappers.
After many conversations and demands of personal cameos, he listened. The success of "Money Pile Up" authored our latest video "Bring the Cash In/Too Much Money."

We focused this video on celebrating one year of marriage. A year of bliss, learning, acknowledging and most of all, praying and believing that God would grant us all that we were praying for.
In hindsight, we had no idea how many declarations we prayed and fasted to uphold in our lives. In this year, we were comfortable to pray together in expectancy and the declare things over our lives and that by his word, it will come to pass. (John 22:28)
In less than a year our declaration of new cars and a new house has came to pass. Why wouldn't we declare that we have too much money to count? Why wouldn't we declare that our 7 incomes are bringing in cash? We have put our faith to work by sharing these declarations to those that may not know how to pray or declare anything over their lives.

This is how we evangelize. This is what works for us and the audience that we feel are forgotten. If we don't do it, who will? At the end of the day, everyone's declaration isn't going to sound like yours. What initiates change is in the power of the recipient. A regular church member that has "churched" for twenty plus years may not find this type of evangelism creditable or suitable, but we are not trying to evangelize to you. We are showing that being a Christian is fun, profitable and peaceful.
As Christians, we should better understand and strongly promote this declaration of having an enjoyed life right here on earth while we are alive. (Ecclesiastes 9:9-18) Yes, we want to go to heaven, but until we get there we will sing his praises, accept his favor and decree abundance over our lives... with a trap beat in the background.
